matter is transhumanism (random title)
Posted at 07:35:20 by Scott on 14th April , 2010so.. it’s been a little while.. apologies for that.. the delay since my last post here has been down to the constraints of everyday living and the circumstances thereof (private family shit basically).. that having been said.. I have been working diligently upon my first music video for a while which is probably about 2/3rds towards being completed and that has been a learning curve all in itself…
I have also been working upon new tunes when I have been able to.. I have music recorded for the first tune of my second album’s worth of music (draft vocals)… that tune’s current subject matter is transhumanism, but, that might all change..

If there is one thing in life that I will continue to speak out against, it is people who are bullies..
.. this is a song which I recorded today..
Go get Adobe Flash Player!
The song was originally recorded by a hardcore band called Minor Threat in the early 1980’s, but, my version is 1 second faster than the original!
Compete, compete, do it for the boys
Empty barrels make the most noise
You’re always on the move
You’ve always got something to prove
What the fuck are you fighting for?
Is it because you’re five foot four?
You better be happy with what you’ve got
You’ll never get any more
You laugh at a man when he tries
You’re trying to make up for your size
To you life is a rivalry
Keep a step ahead of me
What the fuck are you fighting for?
Is it because you’re five foot four?
You better be happy with what you’ve got
You’ll never get any more
Small man, big mouth
I hope that people enjoy my version, feel free to download and spread the song amongst your friends.. and don’t forget to stand up against bullying wherever you may find it.

‘Pyrolysis’ available for streaming & Avalanche on Play Compilation update
Posted at 00:36:49 by Scott on 20th August , 2009Greetings and Salutations!
The new release date for the Avalanche on Play compilation is September 2009. (www.myspace.com/avalancheonplay)
As there will be a short delay to the release of the Avalanche on Play compilation, I thought that I might share the full lyrics to my song ‘Pyrolysis’. In addition to making the lyrics for ‘Pyrolysis’ available for people to peruse at their leisure, I have also decided that I shall be making the song itself available for streaming via the SHJK myspace page (www.myspace.com/shjk).
Pyrolysis (8:00)
“Do you know that you’re insane? Maybe, you’re just sitting ’round reading Guns ‘n’ Ammo masturbating in your own faeces, do you just stop and go ‘Wow! It’s amazing just how fucking crazy I really am!”
Scared, stupid, fucking judgemental
Religious fundamentalism fetishizes war
A wretched insanity is suffocating humanity
Ticking the boxes, in a futile gamble, for the ultimate goal
Dismembered children sacrificed
- honouring holy blood wars
Bickering brainless automatons
- machete, grenade, Kalashnikov
Who controls more oil?!
Who produces more drugs?!
Who owns more slaves?!
A trembling finger
- rests on the button
Curdled and corrupted minds, unable to focus
Internal third eye lens, devoid of insight
Distorted reality, lacking clarity, in a hope for a life, everlasting
Triacetone Triperoxide, ends the future of a life distraught
Blown to bits
- in a hail of shrapnel
- Compressed waves, gobets of salvation
Bloodied by the love of god
- charred stumps lay sodden and rendered
Shards of splintered fractured bone
- pointing straight up to the heavens
Chunks of sinners and infidels
- the scorn of a god’s dissension
“This is probably going to be the simplest one for to answer, but, what if you’re wrong?”
“Well, what if I’m wrong?! I mean, anybody could be wrong, we could all be wrong about the flying spaghetti monster, the pink unicorn and the flying teapot! You happen to have been brought up, I would presume, in the Christian faith, You know what it’s like not to believe in a particular faith because you’re not a Muslim, You’re not a Hindu, Why aren’t you a Hindu?! Because you happen to have been brought up in America, not in India!! If you’d have been brought up in India, believing.. You’d be a Hindu.. If you’d have been brought up in Denmark in the time of the Vikings you’d have been brought up believing in Wotan and Thor.. If you were brought up in classical Greece you’d be believing in Zeus, If you were brought up in Central Africa you’d be believing in the great Ju Ju up the mountain.. I mean.. There is no particular reason to pick on the Judeo-Christian God.. in by which the sheerest accident that you have appeared to have been brought up and ask me the question ‘What if I’m wrong?!’.. What if you’re wrong about the great Ju Ju at the bottom of the sea?! “
You don’t always get what you want
You don’t always get what you need
You could appreciate what you have
And increase the joy of those deserving
Nurture those whom are a part of us
And dis-empower all your de-motivators,
A life strives for peace within a World of it’s own making
Realising the omnipresence of fear and war
Inventing a farcical existence, -
the mind ignorant to fact – lies to itself
There could be only 2 kinds of people in this World
– those who believe and those who do not

Pyrolysis is the title of the song that I’ll be making available exclusively through the Avalanche on Play compilation (available from August 2009, more details relating to this compilation can be found here – www.myspace.com/avalancheonplay)
The subject matter of the song is mainly regarding the futility of religious fundamentalism.. the lyrics for this song are still very much in process and not finished, but, here is what I have written so far..

Here is also a rough mix of the first 29 seconds of ‘Pyrolysis’..

070409songdemo(shjk) & artwork snippets
Posted at 22:32:23 by Scott on 7th April , 2009I picked up my guitar today and played a couple of riffs for the first time and I sloppily threw them together in a semi semblance of order.. I recorded this one guitar demo in about 10 minutes with a view to working upon the fledgling tune at a later date.. so it was recorded quickly… I was a little bored this evening so I thought that I would use the recorded guitar line to jam along to with my drums.. knowing of course that the guitar demo was most likely knocked out of time here and there and not recorded very well.. anywhoooo.. I thought that I would record the drums in 1 take just to see what it sounded like and to give me an idea of what kind of drums that I could put down upon the fledgling track.. so.. the drums went down.. and I thought.. hmmm.. a bit ropey.. but listenable.. I might as well put a simple bass line down too and another guitar.. hmm.. I think I could put a melody line there with a guitar… aaannnnd…. before I knew it… I have demoed music for a new tune written… I might re-recorded it.. probably not though as I like how it is rough around the edges.. I thought that I would share the demo… the tune doesn’t even have a working title as I have only just recorded it and hadn’t planned to record a whole tune so I haven’t given it any thought… so.. for now.. I’ve just entitled it 070409songdemo(shjk)..
Enjoy!
Go get Adobe Flash Player!
Having retrieved artwork I have been working upon for a while from my dead laptop which will be used with my first SHJK release.. I have been working a little more upon art idea’s.. I thought I might copy a few little sections from the artwork and place it here with this new song demo..
Lost in a Search (31 second snippet)
Posted at 01:04:05 by Scott on 10th March , 2009Well, as there has been a little bit of a journal entry drought around these parts recently.. I thought that I would share another song sample.. this time a 31 second sample of another tune which I’ve been working upon today.. the song in question is one of a few songs which I have written over the course of the past year since acquiring my drumkit and the song was written and mostly recorded about a year ago now.. but.. at the time having just taken up drumming my abilities were not where I wanted them to be.. so.. I recorded a simplified version of the drums that I wanted to place upon the tune and carried around the knowledge of the drum track that I wanted to achieve for this track.. well.. today I thought that having practised the tune a little of late that I would record the new drum track for the tune to see whether or not my drumming abilities had risen sufficiently to do justice to the drum track I have envisioned all this time since the song was originally written.. whilst far from perfect I am happy with the drum track that I have put down.. lyrics for the tune are still very much up in the air (so to speak) as I decided to rewrite the original lyrics and I started that process along with the aforementioned rerecord of the drum track today.. sooooo.. I have a sound snippet of this song and that snippet is a work in progress.. below you will find a verse from ‘lost in a search’ (working title)..
30 second snippet of a random riff
Posted at 09:55:50 by Scott on 2nd March , 2009As it had been a good while since I updated my blog I thought that I might share a 30 second snippet of a random riff that I have laying around which will inevitably end up in one of my future tunes..
